Krista R. Flannigan, J.D.

Krista R. Flannigan, J.D. is a social worker and licensed attorney in Colorado and has extensive experience providing services to victims of high profile mass tragedies. Currently, she is the Director of Public Information & Community Partnerships at the Adams/Broomfield Counties District Attorney’s Office, where she is responsible for community outreach and education as well as media relations.  Prior to that, she served as the Victim Services Network/Community Justice Unit Director at the Denver District Attorney’s Office.  Krista is also an adjunct instructor at Metro State College teaching classes on a variety of human services and criminal justice topics. Formerly, she was the PIO/ Victim Services Consultant with the Office of the District Attorney in the 5th Judicial District Office regarding a high profile case in that office. She also provided services to families of the September 11 tragedies and offered training and consulting to other professionals providing services.  She has worked with the Office for Victims of Crime and the Center for Disease Control to develop and implement a victim assistance response to bio-chemical terrorist attacks. In addition, she was a victim services consultant for Jefferson County in response to the Columbine High School shooting and she previously served as the co-Director for the Colorado Oklahoma Resource Council (“CORC”). Krista worked six years with a District Attorney's Office in a Colorado mountain community. She served on the committee that drafted the Colorado Victim Rights Amendment and enabling legislation and is currently an advisory member of the National Victim Rights Amendment Network and she is currently the President of the Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance.

Anne Munch, J.D.

Ms. Munch attended the University of Denver for her undergraduate and graduate studies and received a BA in psychology and sociology, and then her law degree.  Following law school Ms. Munch spent seven years as a prosecutor for the Denver District Attorney’s office including a rotation in the felony domestic violence and sexual assault unit.  She also spent two years as the Chief Deputy District Attorney for the 7th Judicial District in Telluride, Colorado, and two years as  the supervisor of the fast track domestic violence unit in the Jefferson County DA’s office in Golden, Colorado.  In addition to her work as a prosecutor, Ms. Munch was the director of the San Miguel Resource Center, a domestic violence and sexual assault program in Telluride, Colorado. She also directed the Ending Violence Against Women Project, a statewide multi-disciplinary training and technical assistance project in Colorado for nine years.  Currently, Ms. Munch is the owner of Anne Munch Consulting, Inc. and works full time providing speaking, training and consulting in the area of sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking.   She is a recognized subject matter expert in her field, and provides her services to local, national and military organizations all across the United States, Asia and Europe.  She works extensively in the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response programs for the US Air Force, the US Army and the US Marine Corps.  Ms. Munch regularly speaks at state, national and international conferences on topics related to violence against women.  She is on the teaching faculty for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Nancy Lewis

Nancy Lewis graduated from Edinboro State College in Pennsylvania in 1966. Thereafter, she directed an alternative high school in Westminster and the Woman School Network in Lakewood. In 1994 Nancy became the Executive Director of the Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance (COVA). That same year, Nancy also volunteered for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Victim Assistance Program and continued serving that community for 12 years. As Executive Director of COVA, Nancy directed the COVA response to the Oklahoma City Bombing trials, the Columbine High School and Platte Canyon High School shootings and lead a crisis response team that responded to victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York City. Nancy also provided assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina that were relocated to Colorado. Nancy currently serves on the Governor’s Victim’s Compensation and Assistance Coordinating Committee and the Metropolitan State College Criminal Justice Program Advisory Committee. Nancy is widely respected throughout the state and nation. The State of Colorado is fortunate to have Nancy Lewis as a thoughtful leader who is committed to creating bridges of fairness, equality, participation and inclusion is a way the empowers crime victims.
